"It has been really amazing to see how consistent loving discipline and mentor relationships really impacts kids' lives. I've seen a kid go from a temper tantrum to a calm understanding of his mistakes and the hope that he has to change in the future. I've seen prayer counseling and simple bible teaching change his day for the better! Jesus really cares about these kids and we are able to share with them what forgiveness looks like when we discipline them with love. Also, when we go to the neighborhood playground, I am able to see the contrast between kids that roam around Lonsdale vs our kids, who are sheltered from the street after school and who are held to a higher standard of behavior. Mentorship, connecting godly mature adults with kids, is such an impactful thing for the kids in Lonsdale. I am so thankful to work at a ministry that believes in its importance."

"Thrive Lonsdale aims to aid elementary through high school children in educational, emotional, and spiritual support through after school care. The organization offers programs that would not be otherwise possible, such as mentorship, educational development, emotional support, and daily meals. As most children come from homes below the poverty line, Thrive aims to support the children in ways they cannot get at home."

"Before I started working at Thrive, I was very uneducated about the community that I now call home. The Lonsdale community has made such a great impact on my life. The people that I have become so comfortable with at Thrive that i see every week has continued to uplift my spirit. The happy faces of all the workers and children consistently remind me that a positive atmosphere makes all the difference. I am so happy to be apart of what makes Thrive succeed!"
